Susan
Lowdermilk is a printmaker and book artists who teaches studio art
and graphic design courses at Lane Community College. She became interested
in artists¡¯ books while doing her MFA with Peggy Prentice in printmaking
at the University of Oregon and was also influenced by Sandy Tilcock
of Lone Goose Press with whom she has worked on a number of fine press
projects. Her books have been collected by many museums and libraries,
including the New York Public Library, the Getty Museum, the Library
of Congress, the Portland Art Museum and the University of Oregon.
She enjoys using traditional printmaking processes in her work but
also uses computer technology and is influenced by contemporary graphics,
typographic design and fine arts.
