Description
The hanging piece, “After Arimatsu,” allows me to reminisce about the hanging display of shibori pieces in Japan, so long as to trail along the floor, open at the top and closed at the bottom. This brought an understanding of the technique – binding a cloth with a pattern in mind, then dyeing. When the cloth is unbound, a design is visible where the bound areas resist the dye.
